The Kaleidoskop Cultural Center, with the blessing of His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije and the support of UNESCO and the Kolarac Foundation, announces a Call for participation in the international, collective, juried exhibition of sacred art "The Light of the Logos," which will be held from August 26 to September 11 at the Ilija M. Kolarac Foundation Gallery in Belgrade.
This year, UNESCO celebrates 20 years since the adoption of the Convention on Cultural Diversity. Cultural Center Kaleidoscope is especially honored by UNESCO's invitation to join the global jubilee celebration, and The Light of the Logos exhibition has already been included on the global map of events that are part of the celebration. In this way, the exhibition receives planetary recognition and visibility.

In light of this occasion, the previous exhibition concept has been expanded into a multidisciplinary event, now bearing the name "The Light of the Logos". During the exhibition, a master class will be held on August 27 and 28. We are announcing esteemed artists from abroad, and we will soon publish the names of local artists. The following artists will paint live on site: professor dr Jorgos Kordis (Greece), one of the greatest fresco painters of today Grigori Popescu-Muscel, professor dr Mihai Coman, professor Andrei Musat (Romania).
The face of the saint (previously the focus of "Portrait on the Icon" exhibition) still remains the most important and essential element of every icon. Starting in 2025, the exhibition concept has been broadened with the new categories that provide a more comprehensive representation of saints and biblical scenes. This expansion ensures that, through collaboration with UNESCO, the exhibition reaches a global audience and presents the full beauty of sacred art.
We invite artists to depict the holiness of saints through three complementary contents:
The Face of the Saint – The traditional focus of the exhibition that emphasizes saint's likeness as a window and guide to the Prototype.
Half-length and Full-Figure Depictions of Saints – An expanded representation allowing for the experience of internal dynamics and movement within the icon, facilitating interaction between the observer and the observed where the boundary dissolves and the observer becomes an active participant in spiritual reality.
Scenes from the Lives of Saints or Biblical Narratives – Contextualized depictions of events related to church feast days.
